Coach Mulligan has been in education since 1997 after graduating from Fayetteville-Manlius High School and Ithaca College. He started running and racing in 1982 (7th grade). He has run a couple miles and toed a starting line more than once. He has garnered a few awards including earning All-American status at IC and set some records , but his greatest source of pride and satisfaction comes in the overall development of a Cross Country Harrier.
"There is nothing like being on a team. My teammates from high school and college are great guys. Suffering and succeeding in running (with teammates) is what it's all about. I'm lucky to share my passion with others and help them discover and develop their strengths and talents while also helping others to learn, grow and become 'more'. This life is an adventure and running with others is the way to live it." Coach Wrenn has instructed and coached at the elementary, middle school, high school, and the college level for 23 years. He appreciates the differences that fitness and team sports can make in those who participate. As a coach, his strengths include: ensuring overall sports specific training and presenting life skills that leads to the student athlete's overall success.
His favorite sports quote which was shared to him as an athlete at Orange High School by Coach Shriner, "It is not where you start in life. It is where you Finish!" Coach Wrenn attended Orange High School (88-91) and Burlington Cummings High School (91-92). He graduated from the University of North Carolina of Pembroke with a BA Sports & Exercise Science, BA Health & Physical Education, and a Master of Arts in Physical Education (K-12) He resides in Mebane with his wife Rachel, and 3 sons Ethan, Jacob, and David.
